The Ginger Man by J.P. Donleavy $30

First published in Paris in 1955 (and originally banned in the United States) J. P. Donleavy’s first novel is now recognized as one of the hundred best novels by Modern Library.

Set in Ireland just after World War II, The Ginger Man follows the misadventures of Sebastian Dangerfield, a young American ne’er-do-well studying at Trinity College in Dublin. With barely any time for his studies, Dangerfield embarks on a journey of decadent self-indulgence, trying to survive without having to descend into the bottomless pit of steady work.

The book is in good condition (covered in a mylar acid-free protector). No missing or damaged pages, no tears, underlining or highlighting of text or writing in the margins. A few creases on the back cover. Overall, minimal wear and tear.
